peeping morning light

I would still close my eyes
for the gleaming morning light
the daily worries
such as "what do we eat today"
a list for groceries
and that one bill that
still to be paid
make an appointment for the dentist
and quickly even by bike to supermarket
order the right dog food
hand in books at the library
and write a message for the newspaper
but quickly opened them again
it couldn't wait
maybe a little longer tomorrow
